manifest.json – The blueprint of the extension. It defines permissions, background scripts, icons, action popups, and everything Chrome needs to understand SmartShot.
popup.html – The extension's control center. It provides a lightweight interface users interact with when clicking the Chrome extension icon.
popup.js – The brains behind popup.html. Handles user interactions like toggling screenshot view, searching, or applying filters — all from the popup.
background.js – The always-on observer. Listens for download and screenshot events in real time, captures metadata, and writes them into storage like a silent ninja.
history.json – The structured vault. Stores all screenshot and download metadata in a machine-readable format. Even if you uninstall and reinstall — your story stays intact.
history.html – Your visual time machine. It reads from history.json and presents a beautiful, searchable, human-friendly timeline of everything you've saved.
